Brian R. Moore is originally from Virginia and has family throughout the state but was primarily raised in Charlotte, NC where he attended Charlotte Latin School.
Brian joined Phillips, Morrison, Johnson, and Ferrell as an associate attorney in early 2008. He is currently focusing on our firm’s family law practice with Frank Morrison but is also available to represent clients in any business, real estate, or criminal law matters as well as appeals to either the Virginia Court of Appeals or the Supreme Court of Virginia.
Brian received a B.S. degree in Biology, with a minor in Philosophy, from Baylor University in Texas and his Juris Doctor degree from University of Richmond’s T.C. Williams School of Law. Brian was most recently an associate with a Dallas, TX law firm specializing in mortgage finance and transaction law serving as counsel to SunTrust Mortgage in Richmond, VA. His prior experience includes: public service as a trial and appellate attorney for the Virginia Indigent Defense Commission in Lynchburg, law clerk to Professor Emeritus W. Wade Berryhill for project research, revision and writing for publications including Berryhill’s “Property Law” course textbook and authoritative “Virginia Real Estate Transactions”, law clerk in an environmental law firm focusing on Clean Water Act issues as well as numerous other academic and law-related projects.
In the community, Brian is very proud to be serving as a board member with both the Lynchburg Symphony Orchestra and Opera on the James. He performs pro bono legal work for Legal Aid of Virginia and is currently serving on Legal Aid’s Pro Bono Task Force Committee. Brian’s wife, Nora, is the Production Coordinator and Assistant to the Executive Director at Lynchburg’s Academy of Fine Arts. Nora is trained as a classical singer with a Master degree in Opera from the Boston Conservatory of Music.
